Handvo is a Gujrati Snack and made with rice and mixed lentils...Today I am making semolina Handvo by following Gaurav Dhody's Recipe

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1.5 cup smolina/sooji
  2. 2/3 cup curd
  3. 1 onion chopped
  4. Veggies of your choice...like peas, capsicum etc.
  5. 1/2 dry roasted peanuts
  6. 1 tbsp lemon juice
  7. 2 tsp oil
  8. 1 tbsp dry coconut
  9. 1 pouch eno
  10. Water as desired
  11. To Temper
  12. 2 tsp oil
  13. 2 sprig curry leaves
  14. 1 tsp mustard seeds
  15. 2 green chillies


  1. Mix Rawa, Curd, diced veggies and salt well.
  2. Add little water to set the consistency similar to dhokla, but not flowing consistency. Keep it aside for 30 minutes.
  3. Take a nonstick wok, add oil, mustard seeds, curry leaves and green chilli and let it spread on the entire base.
  4. While it's crackling, mix eno with Veggie Rawa mix and spread it over the wok with Temper. Make it even
  5. Cover the wok, cook on medium slow for 5 min and then over slow flame for 6-7 min.
  6. Just like cake, check with a toothpick or knife to check. It should come out clean.
  7. Slide it out from the wok. It should come out easily bcoz of non stick surface.
  8. Cut out in desired shapes. Serve tomato sauce.
  9. It's tempting...isn't it??
