ABOUT Instant jalebi RECIPE

Jalebi is made by deep frying maida batter in pretzel or circular shapes,which are then soaked in sugar syrup.They are particularly popular in Persia and Indian sub-continent. Jalebis are crispy and crunchy on the outside,Juicy and chewy on the inside.These crispy and crunchy jalebis tastes best when dipped in cold rabdi or milk.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Ingredients for sugar syrup:
  2. Sugar 1 cup
  3. Water 2 cups
  4. Rose water 2 tsp
  5. Ingredients for preparing Jalebi:
  6. All purpose flour/maida 3/4 cup
  7. Baking Powder a pinch
  8. Dahi/curd 1/3 cup
  9. Ghee/oil for deep frying
  10. Elaichi powder 1/2 tsp


  1. Steps for making Sugar Syrup :
  2. Combine the sugar with water together in a deep pan and cook on medium flame till the sugar dissolves and is of 1 Thread consistency. Keep the syrup warm.
  3. Add the rose water and Elaichi powder to sugar syrup and mix well.
  4. Step for making Jalebis :
  5. Sieve the flour with baking powder and keep aside.
  6. Combine the curd with water in a Bowl and whisk well.
  7. Add the flour and make thick batter,making sure that no lumps remain.
  8. Batter is of dropping consistency.
  9. Heat ghee/ oil in a broad sauce pan.
  10. Fill the Jalebi batter into a piping bag and cut the top to make a small hole .
  11. Make round Jalebis by squeezing the piping bag and move it in a circular direction starting from center towards the outside.
  12. Deep fry the jalebis till golden brown from both the sides.
  13. Transfer immediately into the warm syrup.
  14. Drain after 2 to 3 minutes and serve hot.
