Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 250 grams karele
  2. 2 big size onions
  3. mustard oil 3 tablespoons
  4. tamarind paste 2 tablespoons
  5. mustard seeds 1 teaspoon
  6. Curry leaves 1 teaspoon
  7. Fennel seeds powder 2 teaspoon
  8. Red pepper powder 1teaspoon
  9. 2teaspoon sambhar masala
  10. turmeric powder 1teaspoon
  11. salt per taste


  1. Wadh and cut bitterguard into roundals
  2. Take oil in a vok put on flame
  3. Shallow fry the bitterguard roundals till soften
  4. Now keep them aside
  5. In the leftover oil add mustard seeds and finely chopped onions
  6. Shallow fry it
  7. Now add all the spices
  8. Add bitterguard pieces
  9. Keep on stirring for 2..3 minutes
  10. Now add tamarind paste
  11. Cook for 2 minutes more
  12. Turn off the flame
