ABOUT Savoury Mawa Bitter Gourd RECIPE

The most healthy Bitter Gourd in a different look and taste .I used white karela/bitter gourd here and gave a sweet twist to this Bitter vegetable.A sweet savoury filling of fennel,cashews,mawa cardomom mash used .Shallow fried in Pure ghee,these are done in ten minutes as theyre preboiled.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 300 grams White bitter gourd
  2. 25 grams mawa
  3. 1 tblspoon Fennel seeds
  4. 1 tblspn broken cashews
  5. 5-6 Cardomom seeds
  6. 1 tblspn almond pistachio powder
  7. 1 tspn ginger powder
  8. 1 tblspn powdered sugar
  9. 1 tspn salt
  10. 1-2 tblspoon pure ghee

Instructions

  1. Peel the Bitter gourd /karela finely an keep peel aside to use
  2. Clean out seeds and make slit and hollow,apply salt and keep aside
  3. Now put these to boil in a pan for 5 min,cover cook
  4. Meanwhile take all filling ingredients
  5. Mawa also as shown here
  6. Once you have all ingredients mix them well
  7. Remove the boiled karela in a plate cool and cut out pieces
  8. Tie these filled rolls with a thread
  9. Now heat pure ghere in a pan
  10. To this hot ghee add the karelas
  11. Start saute /shallow fry on slow to medium flame ,turning sides
  12. Do not burn but saute turning often
  13. As bolen brown start removing now
  14. Serve hot
