A tasty innovative dish , made with brinjal. This is a perfect side dish with some rotis.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1-2big brinjal
  2. 1big Onion
  3. Whole Garam Masala - (1 Bay Leaf, 1 Cinnamon Stick, 3 Cardamom, 3 Cloves)
  4. ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp
  5. Green Peas (fresh/frozen)- 3/4 cup
  6. green chilies - 2
  7. 2 tomatos fine chopped
  8. Red Chilly Pow5der - 1 tsp or to taste
  9. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  10. Coriander powder - 1 tsp
  11. Cumin powder - 1 tsp
  12. Oil - 2 -3tbsp
  13. Salt - to taste
  14. 1TBSP LIME JUICE
  15. Curry leaves - 1 strand (chopped)

Instructions

  1. Wash the brinjals and Chop the brinjal into big chunks
  2. Heat Oil in a non-stick pan add chopped onion fry them till golden brown , take out from pan and keep aside
  3. Same pan add the whole garam masala (bay leaf, cinnamon, cardamom and cloves).Add the ginger garlic paste and green chillies
  4. Add tomatos and fry for a minute.
  5. add chopped brinjal to this.Cover and let it sweat and cook with its own moisture.
  6. Mix once in a while to avoid it sticking to the bottom
  7. Once the brinjal is almost cooked and mashed up
  8. add the fried onions and mix well.Add all the dry spices powders. (turmeric powder, chilly powder, cumin powder and coriander powder and salt)
  9. cover and cook for another 5-10 minutes until everything is nicely cooked.After this, remove the cover and let it continue to cook until the dish dries up and forms like keema
  10. Now add frozen peas and mix well
  11. Cook for a minute ,Keep stiring while cooking to prevent sticking in pan ,when its almost done add a 1 tsp lime juice
  12. Now tossed with chopped curry leaves and its done to serve
