ABOUT Fruit Pulav RECIPE

This is easiest pulav I make at home. It is healty as we have used nuts and fruits for the pulav.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. ghee - 2 tbsp
  2. Kaju or Whole Cashew nuts - 10
  3. Kismish or dried grapes - 10
  4. Badam [almonds] - 8
  5. Saffron [few strands]
  6. Milk little
  7. peas - 1/4 th cup
  8. Salt
  9. Basmathi rice 1 cup
  10. Apple 1 peeled and sliced
  11. Grapes - 10
  12. Pineapple cut in to pieces
  13. Pomegranate - 4 tbsp
  14. Elaichi or Cardamon 4
  15. shahi jeera - 1 tsp
  16. Bay leaf - 1
  17. Cloves 4
  18. 2 medium size onion
  19. 6 garlic pods

Instructions

  1. Rinse and Soak Basmati rice for 20 mins
  2. Take 2tbsp warm milk and add 10 saffron strands
  3. Take a think bottom pan and heat the pan. Add Ghee. When it is hot. Add Cashew, Badam and Kishmish. Fry gently. Keep aside
  4. Add Ghee. Add onion slices and fry them till it changes colour. Add finely chopped garlic and saute well
  5. Add the onion and garlic with the nuts and mix well
  6. Add some more ghee. Add shahi jeera, bay leaf, cardamon and cloves. Now add basmati rice, peas and add 2 1/2 cups of water.
  7. Cook for 8- 10 mins. When the grains are long. Stop cooking. Drain the starch completely.
  8. Add the onion, garlic and nuts mixture.
  9. Add Ghee , saffron soaked in warm milk and fruits to the cooked rice
  10. Mix them gently and close it with a lid. Cook on low flame for 2 -3 mins
  11. Serve it with Onion Raitha
