A perfect tea time cake with perfect crumb. I followed Ruchi's recipe and I'm totally in love with it .

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 1 cup - maida
  2. 1/2 cup - sugar
  3. 1/2 cup- curd
  4. 1/2 tsp- baking soda
  5. 3/4th tsp- baking powder
  6. 1 tsp- vanilla essence
  7. 2tbsp- milk powder
  8. 1/4th cup- oil or butter
  9. 1/4th cup - hot milk
  10. Chopped nuts of your choice


  1. Sieve maida , milk powder and baking powder 4 to 5 times .
  2. Mix curd and baking soda in a bowl and keep aside for 5 minutes
  3. Then add oil and vanilla essence to curd and mix well .
  4. Preheat your oven at 180degrees
  5. Now add dry ingredients to curd along with hot milk .
  6. Add the chopped nuts dusted with maida .
  7. Mix well but don't over do it
  8. Transfer the batter to a greased mould . Spread some nuts over the batter .
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes at 180degrees till done or till a tooth pick comes out clean .

Hi. Can whole wheat atta be used instead of maida? Also, can condensed milk be used instead of milk powder ?
