ABOUT Italian Spiced Prawn Batter Fry RECIPE

A delicious and flavorful prawns spiced with Sprig's Genoa Spice Blend and deep in flour batter and deep fried to perfection. It is crispy from outside and soft juicy from inside. A perfect party starter to impress your guest.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Prawns - 150-200 gms
  2. Sprig's Genoa Spice Blend - 1 tsp
  3. Lemon juice - 1 tsp 
  4. Salt to taste 
  5. Chilly flakes for seaaoning 
  6. Cracked pepper for seasoning 
  7. Oil for deep frying 
  8. For Batter :
  9. All Purpose Flour - 3 tbsps 
  10. Corn flour - 2 tbsps 
  11. Salt to taste 
  12. Chilly flakes, cracked peppercorns and Sprig's Genoa Spice Blend for seasoning
  13. Water as required

Instructions

  1. Devien and wash the prawns. Pat dry with kitchen towel. Season with salt, cracked peppercorns, chilly flakes and lemon juice.
  2. Add the Sprig's Genoa Spice Blend. 
  3. Mix well and marinate for atleast 15-30 mins.
  4. In a bowl take all the batter ingredients and mix well.
  5. Make a smooth thick batter without lumps. 
  6. Heat oil in a pan. When the oil is hot, reduce the heat. Take the marinated prawns one by one, deep in the batter and drop in the oil.
  7. Flip over and fry.
  8. Fry on medium heat till golden brown and crisp from outside.
  9. Your spiced prawn batter fry is ready.
