ABOUT Cheese and Tangier crackers RECIPE

These are a great savoury snack to munch and a nice option to serve your canapes on. The sharpness of the cheese goes very well with the unique Tangier spice blend in these crisp crackers.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 100 grams or about 1/2 cup cheddar cheese
  2. 56 grams or 1/4 cup unsalted butter , at room temperature
  3. 90 grams or 3/4 cup all purpose flour
  4. 1/2 teaspoon salt
  5. 1/2 tablespoon Tangier spice blend

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together grated cheese and butter until they are smooth.
  2. Mix in the salt and Tangier spice blend
  3. Add the flour and mix until it forms a dough
  4. You can add a little water if the dough seems too dry
  5. Roll the dough into a log about 3 cm in diameter .Wrap in plastic and chill for 30 minutes. Meanwhile preheat your oven to 180C
  6. When ready to bake, slice the log into discs of about 1/2 cm thickness
  7. Place on a baking sheet and smoothen the edges. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes until golden brown
  8. Let cool and store in an airtight container !
