A typical North-Indian dish made out of paneer and onions

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 200g paneer (cottage cheese)
  2. 2 onions sliced
  3. 3 tomatoes
  4. 1 onion diced
  5. 1 Green chilly chopped
  6. 1 Green cardamom
  7. 1 Bay leaf
  8. 3 tbsp oil
  9. 1 tbsp Fresh cream
  10. 1 tbsp coriander chopped
  11. 1 tbsp garlic chopped
  12. 1 tsp coriander powder
  13. 1 tsp ginger chopped
  14. 1 tsp chilli powder
  15. 1 tsp Dried fenugreek leaves
  16. 1/2 tsp Garam masala
  17. 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  18. 1/8 tsp turmeric powder


  1. Cut paneer into small cubes.
  2. Heat 1 tbsp oil and add diced onions. Cook till onion becomes translucent and transfer to plate.
  3. Again heat 2 tbsp oil, add cumin seeds, cardamom,bayleaf and onion. Saute till brown.
  4. Add ginger garlic, chillies and tomatoes . Cook till oil leaves the side.
  5. Add red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala, salt and kasuri methi. Cook for a minute.
  6. Add paneer and onion cubes and 1/2 cup of water. Cook till gravy thickens.
  7. Add fresh cream and remove from the flame.
  8. Mix well and top with fenugreek seeds.
