gulab jamun made with milk powder

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Milk powder 1 cup
  2. All purpose flour 2 tablespoon
  3. Ghee ( i used vanaspati ghee)2 tablespoon
  4. Soda 1/2 teaspoon
  5. Water as required for making dough
  6. Sugar 2 cups
  7. Water for making syrup 2 1/2 cups
  8. Milk 2 tablespoon
  9. 1/2 tsp Cardamom powder
  10. Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. take milk powder, flour, ghee and soda in a bowl
  2. mix well so that ghee mixes evenly with milk powder
  3. sprinkle water over the mixture and make a soft dough
  4. do not knead the dough
  5. cover with a kitchen towel and let it rest for 15 minutes
  6. take sugar and water in a pan
  7. when it starts to boil add milk and remove impurities
  8. add cardamom powder
  9. when the syrup turns little sticky turn off the flame
  10. now, take the dough and divide into marble sized small portions
  11. roll each portion and make a round shaped crack free ball from it
  12. heat oil in a kadai
  13. when oil is medium hot drop the balls into oil
  14. stir gently with spoon and fry over medium flame
  15. fry until golden brown
  16. drain and transfer them into sugar syrup
  17. keep the jamuns in syrup for 1-2 hours
  18. jamuns are ready to serve
