ABOUT Sweet Boondi RECIPE

Sweet boons is a rajasthani snack food made from sweetened fried chickpea flour being very sweet, it can only be stored for a week or so.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For sugar syrup -
  2. 1 cup sugar
  3. 1 cup water
  4. 5 - 7 saffron sticks
  5. For boondi -
  6. 1 cup chickpea flour
  7. 1 - 2 drops red food colour
  8. Ghee for frying

Instructions

  1. In a pan add sugar, water, saffron sticks and cook on high flame for 5 - 7 minutes.
  2. Until the sugar syrup is one thread consistency.
  3. For boondi -
  4. Combine the chickpea flour and ½ cup water in a bowl and mix well.
  5. Heat the ghee in pan and pour 3 - 4 tbsp, so that boondi drops in oil.
  6. Deep fry the boondi over a medium flame and remove using a slotted spoon.
  7. Put them in warm sugar syrup and mix well.
  8. Now add 1 - 2 drops red colour in chickpea flour and same process of preparing boondi.
  9. Serve yummy and delicious sweet boondi.
