Daliya is a very good source of daily reqirement of fibre and manganese. It absorbs slowly and manages Sugar level. It keeps your digestive tract healthy. And adding greens to it makes it healthier.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Daliya ( broken wheat) 11/2 cups
  2. Spinach 20 - 25 leaves.
  3. Spring onions - 250 grams
  4. Moong Sprouts 1 cup.
  5. French beans finely chopped 1/2 cup.
  6. Capsicum 1 big chopped
  7. Onions 2 chopped
  8. Green peas 1/2 cup boiled
  9. Methi leaves 1 bunch
  10. Coriander leaves 100 grams.
  11. Curry leaves 5-6
  12. Green Garlic crushed 50 grams.
  13. Ginger grated 1 tbsp
  14. Garlic cloves 5 to 6 crushed
  15. Cloves 4 to 5
  16. Cinnamon stick 1 small
  17. Olive oil 2 tbsp
  18. Ghee/clarified butter 3 tbsp


  1. Wash and soak Daliya for half an hour.
  2. Wash and chop all veggies
  3. Pressure cook Daliya with salt , cloves and Cinnamon stick until done
  4. Steam green peas until tender
  5. Heat oil in a heavy bottom pan. Add green gram Sprouts and beans
  6. Saute for half minute, add Capsicum and chopped onions. saute for 4-5 minutes
  7. Add ginger, garlic and saute until raw aroma disappears
  8. Add curry leaves and salt. Mix well
  9. Add Spinach and green garlic . Mix well
  10. Add garam masala, Spring onions and saute for half a minute and switch off. Add steamed peas and stir well
  11. In a separate pan, heat 1/2 tsp oil and saute methi leaves with little salt for 2 minutes
  12. Mix steamed Daliya with greens.
  13. Cover and cook Daliya for 5 minutes over medium flame
  14. Add ghee and mix well. Serve with soup or curd.
