ABOUT Panakam / Flavoured Jaggery Drink ( No cook) RECIPE

Panakam is traditional dish of tamil nadu made as prasadam for lord vishnu in most of the vishnu temple. It is simple jaggery syrup with pepper, Cardamon and dry ginger as main ingredient.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 2 tbsp Pure Jaggery powder
  2. Black pepper corns 6
  3. Dry ginger small piece
  4. Cardamon 6 pods
  5. Water 2 glass

Instructions

  1. Soak 2 tbsp Jaggery in water
  2. Take required pepper, cardamon and dry ginger
  3. Add to mortar and pestle
  4. Crush them
  5. Add to jaggery syrup
  6. Add more water
  7. Garnish with Tulsi ( holy basil) leaves. You could get better flavour when you rest it for 1 hr for infusion of spices with jaggery
  8. Serve chilled
