ABOUT Fenugreek Tambuli RECIPE

Eating this tambli is healthy and helps in digestion. Fenugreek seeds have lots of medicinal value. They are loaded with antioxidants. They help to avoid constipation and aid in liver function and digestion. It helps in reduction of cholesterol and removal of toxins from the body. It helps to control blood pressure and sugar. Also menthya increases the milk production in new moms.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 tsp methi / fenugreek seeds
  2. 3 cup buttermilk
  3. 1 cup grated coconut
  4. 1/2 tsp ghee
  5. 1 red chilli (byadagi chilli)
  6. 1/2 tsp pepper powder
  7. 1 tsp salt
  8. 1 tsp jaggary powder (optional)
  9. For seasoning
  10. 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
  11. 1 red chilly
  12. 1/4 tsp ghee
  13. 1 tsp finely chopped curry leaves

Instructions

  1. Add ghee to a pan, fry broken red chilli 1 and methi seeds until it turns golden brown (it leaves a nice aroma by then). Switch off the flame.
  2. Add pepper powder and saute once.
  3. Make a fine paste of this with coconut using buttermilk.
  4. Add the remaining buttermilk and salt to this paste. Mix well (tambuli should be like a thick milkshake). If you want add jaggery now and mix well.
  5. In a pan, prepare the tempering by adding ghee. When ghee is hot, add mustard seeds & red chilli. Pour this seasoning with finely chopped curry leaves to the tambuli prepared & serve it with rice.
