Ingredients to make Kesar Peda

  • 1 litre milk
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tbsp saffron
  • 1 to 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • Few pistachios for garnishing

How to make Kesar Peda

  1. BOIL 1 LITRE MILK ON MEDIUM HEAT
  2. ADD 1 TBSP BUTTER
  3. STIR THE MILK AT INTERVALS
  4. THE MILK WILL FROTH
  5. TAKE A TBSP MILK AND ADD IT TO THE SAFFRON
  6. MIX THEM WELL
  7. SCRAPE THE FAT FROM THE SIDES
  8. STIR STIR AND STIR
  9. WHEN THE MILK HAS REDUCED AND FORMS A THICK PASTE STIR IT CONTINUOUSLY
  10. STIR IT WELL WITH LITTLE FORCE
  11. STIR IT WELL
  12. IT FORMS A THICK DOUGH
  13. TURN OFF THE HEAT AND ADD THE POWDERED SUGAR
  14. GENTLY MASH THEM
  15. ADD THE SAFFRON MILK
  16. MIX THEM GENTLY
  17. ADD A TSP OF BUTTER
  18. KEEP ON LOW HEAT AND STIR
  19. IT GETS THICK AND NON STICKY.
  20. TURN OFF THE HEAT
  21. STIR FOR 5 MORE MINUTES
  22. NOW TRANSFER THE MIXTURE TO A BOWL
  23. KNEAD THEM WITH A SPOON
  24. GREASE A TBSP WITH BUTTER AND SCOOP IT FROM THE DOUGH.
  25. ROLL IT GENTLY AND FLATTEN THE PEDAS WITH YOUR FINGERS
  26. GARNISH WITH CHOPPED PISTACHIOS IN THE CENTRE.
  27. KESAR PEDAS ARE READY TO SERVE
