Deepam giving light to the world. Here my innovative Saffron Deepam is giving health to the world people. It's very rich in dry fruits and saffron. It's really a delicious savoury.

Ingredients Serving: 7

  1. For dry fry and powder....
  2. Almonds (Badam) 1/2 cup
  3. Cashew nuts 1/2 cup
  4. Wheat flour 1/2 cup
  5. Walnuts 1/2 cup
  6. Grated coconut 1/2 cup
  7. Clove 5
  8. Cardamom seeds 1 tsp
  9. Nutmug powder 1 tsp
  10. For mixture.....
  11. Honey 1 cup
  12. Saffron 1 tsp
  13. Milk 5 tsp
  14. Red beetroot essence 5 tsp
  15. Ghee 2 tsp
  16. For khoya...
  17. 1/2 ltr thick milk
  18. 3 tsp almond-cashew powder
  19. 3 tsp honey
  20. 4 threads of saffron
  21. To decorate the Deepam....
  22. Khoya (thickened milk) 3/4 cup
  23. Few almond strips
  24. Raisins few
  25. Saffron threads few

Instructions

  1. Clean and dry fry seperately all the above ingredients under fry . Keep aside to cool.
  2. Now mix together and make smooth powder of these in mixie.
  3. Take a nonstick pan or any frying pan, pour this powder to that.
  4. Add honey, beetroot fresh essence.
  5. Mix well in medium heat, adding saffron mixed milk.
  6. When it starts to leave the edges add ghee and saute well.
  7. Switch off the flame. Let the mixture cool a bit and then do gooseberry sized balls.
  8. Mixture is ready to shape. Grease your hand and take a ball and shape it to deepa. Shape all the balls into deepas.
  9. How to prepare khoya? Take half ltr of milk boil it till it reduces 1 cup. Add almond-cashew powder and honey, mix well. Saute till it gets thickness in low flame. Now khoya is ready. Let it be cool.
  10. To decorate Deepas .... Fill a little bit of khoya honey mixture in to all deepam.
  11. Put a long almond strip at the end point of the deepam.
  12. Cut raisin and stick it on the almond.
  13. Put a saffron thread on top of the almond to give an appearance of heat. Saffron deepam ready to serve.
