ABOUT Ginger chilli potato RECIPE

Spicy and tasy potato perfect with rasam or sambhar.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Potatoes-5
  2. Green chillies-8
  3. Ginger-2 inch piece
  4. Dry coconut flakes- 1tbsp
  5. Fenugreek seeds-1tsp
  6. Salt- as per our taste
  7. Turmeric-a dash
  8. Garlic- 3 pods
  9. Mustard seeds, cumin seeds, split urid dal, channa dal, fenugreek seeds, curry leaves- for seasoning
  10. Oil- 1 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Boil potatoes in pressure cooker for 1 whistle.
  2. Allow it to cool and peel the skin of potatoes.
  3. Cut potatoes into bite size chunks.
  4. In a mixie jar, add chillies, coconut, ginger, salt, cumin and grind it to a paste.
  5. Add this paste to potatoes and marinate for 10 min.
  6. In a non stick pan, add oil and let it become hot.
  7. Add garlic and then all the sesonings and curry leaves.
  8. Saute for few seconds and add turmeric and then add marinated potatoes.
  9. Keep stiring in slow flames till the potatoes are nicely coated with the masala.
  10. When done, add chopped coriander leaves and switch off the flame.
