A Famous Gujarati Post Pregnancy Recipe for all the Mothers.. Hello Friends, this recipe is my Grand Mother's Recipe Which is being Made by My Mother .Various Spices and herbs are used to make it which have healing and strengthening properties.. A readymade powder called Katlu is being used wHich is also known as Batrisu in Gujarati.. Batrisu means battis or 32 which refers to blend of 32 mixes of spices and herbs... Katlu is a Boon for Every Pregnant Women After giving birth to a child.. It has many benefits.. All herbs and spices used have their own function and uses.. It Heals the body that has actually weakened after giving birth to a baby.. It also contains spices which increases the Production of Milk for the infant to feed on.. And So On... This Katlu in the Snap above is being made for me by mumma.. I had a baby in July,2017.. And From then on.. I am still having this Katlu regularly..

Ingredients Serving: 1

  1. Katlu Powder 3 tbsp
  2. Ghee 500 ml
  3. Wheat Flour 1/2 cup
  4. Jaggery 1/2 cup
  5. Ajmo (Caraway Seeds) 3 tbsp
  6. Flex seed 1/4 cup
  7. Badam no lot (Almond Flour) 1/2 cup
  8. Coconut Powder 3/4 cup
  9. Coconut Cut into pieces 3 tbsp
  10. Almond chopped 3 tbsp
  11. CashewNuts choppwed 3 tbsp
  12. Soonth (dried ginger powder) 1/2 cup
  13. Ganthoda (Pipramul) 2 tbsp
  14. Gundar (Edible Gum) 1/2 cup
  15. Khus Khus (Poppy Seeds) 1/4 cup
  16. Variyadi ( fennel seeds) 2 tbsp
  17. Turmeric 1 tsp
  18. Suvadana (Dill Seeds) 1/4 cup

Instructions

  1. Take Ghee in a pan. Fry Edible Gum on low flame.
  2. Take them out after frying.
  3. Now add in Flour to the Ghee..And Saute on low flame till it becomes Brown.
  4. As the Aroma releases, take the flour out
  5. Grease a thali with little oil and keep aside.
  6. Chop the cashews and almonds.
  7. Grate Jaggery.
  8. Cool the Mixture of Flour. As it gets cooled. Add in all the ingredients one by one.
  9. Mix Everything very well.
  10. Transfer the Entire Contents into Greased thali.
  11. Let it set for 2 to 3 hours.
  12. Cut them into pieces or have it in the powdered form ..
