This iron rich healthy kheer has no refined sugar, low fat protien rich sweet good for pregnant women in later stage of pregnancy

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 60 gms dates(around 1 cup)
  2. 1/4th cup chickpeas flour
  3. 1 tsp ghee
  4. 2-3 tbsp jaggery, grated/powdered
  5. 2 cups skimmed milk/low fat milk at room temperature
  6. 1/2 tsp green cardamom powder
  7. PINCH OF NUTMEG POWDER

Instructions

  1. Soak dates in water for atleast 20 min, if dates are hard soak it in hot water.
  2. Make smooth paste of soaked deseeded dates with 1/2 cup of milk.
  3. In one tsp ghee fry besan on medium flame until golden brown
  4. Switch off the gas and add 1/2 cup of milk little by little. Stir continuously to avoid lumps. Put on the gas and add powdered jaggery. Keep stirring.
  5. Add dates paste, mix well. Now add remaining milk. Cook it for another 10 minutes or till you get desired consistency. Add some chopped nuts, cardamom and nutmeg powder. Mix well.
  6. Consistency should be of rabdi/basundi. Garnish with more chopped nuts. Serve hot or cold.
