These are beautiful lemon tarts which has the creaminess with a hint of tangyness of the lemons.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 100gm flour
  2. 50gm butter
  3. 100 gm maa saabat Kali dal(raw)
  4. For lemon sauce:-
  5. 2tbsp vanilla custard
  6. 1tbsp cornflour
  7. 2tbsp lemon juice
  8. Rind of 1 lemon
  9. 3-4tbsp castor sugar
  10. 1 cup water
  11. 1/2 cup Whipped cream
  12. 2-3 drops yellow color
  13. Cherry for decoration


  1. Measure the butter n chill in fridge
  2. Measure flour n start cutting butter into flour nd mix with hands,mixture looking like crumbly
  3. Now add chilled water 2-3 tbsp slowly n make a soft dough
  4. Wrap the dough in plastic foil n keep in fridge 10min.
  5. Now clean the car kitchen slab sprinkle flour ,roll the dough like roti not thin.
  6. Take a tart mould place it under the dough n press it with finger tips cut it over the Sharp edges
  7. Repeat the same process for all tart moulds
  8. Arrange on baking tray n fill the raw dal in moulds
  9. Keep it on centre rack of preheated oven on 160degree ,15to20min.
  10. Remove from oven n check it it's look golden color
  11. Cool it room temperature
  12. Remove the dal
  13. How to make lemon sauce:-
  14. Add butter in a heavy based pan n keep on fire
  15. As butter melts,reduce heat n put all the ing. except water
  16. Now on gas n mix all n give it a little boil on med. Heat
  17. Off gas now n mix water
  18. Keep back on med. Fire n gave boil
  19. Remove pan from fire n balance the taste cool at room temperature
  20. Now chill in fridge 1, hour
  21. Now beat the sauce with electric beater till smooth
  22. Add whipped cream n beat it n make a thick sauce.
  23. Add yellow colour
  24. Now fill in piping bag n fill cooled tarts with lemon sauce
  25. U can decorate with cherry n fruits
