ABOUT Lasagne with Spinach and White Sauce RECIPE

Lasagna sheet is cooked and layered with spinach, white sauce and cheese and then baked to perfection.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. spinach 1 bunch
  2. butter 100 gms
  3. garlic 100 gms
  4. shallots 200 gms
  5. Black pepper (crushed) as per taste
  6. salt as per taste
  7. olive oil 1 tablespoon
  8. Cottage cheese 50 gms
  9. Amul cheese 50 gms
  10. Thyme1 sprig
  11. Basil 1 sprig
  12. Rosemary 1 sprig
  13. For white sauce (Bechamel sauce)
  14. butter 100 gms
  15. flour 100 gms
  16. Milk 4 cups
  17. salt as per taste
  18. nutmeg powder 1/4 tsp
  19. pepper as per taste
  20. Bayleaf 1
  21. cloves 2
  22. onion 1


  1. Take a pan heat butter, add flour to it and mix till it attains a sandy consistency. Add milk which is flavoured with an onion studded with cloves and a bay leaf.
  2. Whisk it till it gets a creamy texture and add the seasoning. Keep aside.
  3. Take another pan, add butter and a little olive oil. Add chopped garlic, shallots, thyme, rosemary and basil. Finally add the cheese and add the seasonings.
  4. Add the lasagna sheet in a hot boiling water and add little olive oil to it. When it is Al dente put it under running cold water for a few minutes.
  5. In a square bowl, layer the lasagna sheet followed by spinach mixture then the white sauce and then some cheese. You should have at least 4 layers and finally on top grate the mozzarella cheese on it.
  6. Bake at 180 degree centigrade for 1 hour or till the cheese on top turns golden brown.
