ABOUT Spinach Ravioli in White Sauce RECIPE

Try this easy to make and delicious Italian recipe with the goodness of spinach. This whole wheat ravioli stuffed with cottage cheese and served along with white sauce.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. For Spinach Ravioli Sheets:
  2. 1/2 cup spinach leaves (chopped)
  3. 2 cups water ( for boiling spinach)
  4. 1 cup whole wheat flour
  5. 1/2 teaspoon salt
  6. Water (for kneading the dough)
  7. For filling:
  8. 1 teaspoon oil
  9. 1/2 cup chopped onions
  10. 1 cup mashed paneer
  11. Salt (to taste)
  12. 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
  13. Other Ingredients :
  14. 2 cups water (for cooking ravioli)
  15. For white sauce :
  16. 1/2 teaspoon garlic (chopped)
  17. 1 teaspoon oil
  18. 2 teaspoon butter
  19. 1/2 cup chopped onions
  20. 1 tablespoon all purpose flour
  21. 2 cups milk
  22. Salt (to taste)
  23. 1 teaspoon dried oregano

Instructions

  1. For making Ravioli Sheets :
  2. Wash spinach leaves and boil in water for around 7-8 minutes.
  3. Take out the leaves from water when cooked and make a smooth paste from them.
  4. Add whole wheat flour and salt in a bowl. Add spinach paste and knead the dough using water.
  5. Cover and let the dough sit for around 10 minutes.
  6. Take a small ball size dough. Roll it using rolling pin. Cut the dough into circle using cutter.
  7. Make circular sheets with all the dough.
  8. For making filling :
  9. Heat a pan. Add oil. Add chopped onions and cook until translucent.
  10. Add paneer and mix well.
  11. Add salt and red chilli powder and mix well.
  12. Filling is ready.
  13. Take a circular sheet. Add 1 teaspoon filling in centre.
  14. Cover with another circular sheet. Tighten the edges by pressing with fork.
  15. Boil the water for cooking ravioli.
  16. Add ravioli in it. Cook for around 7-8 minutes. Add around 2-3 ravioli at a time so that it is easy to cook and will not break.
  17. When it gets cooked, take them out of water.
  18. For making white sauce :
  19. Heat a pan. Add butter. Add flour to it. Roast it. Add milk and mix well. Use whisker to mix it so that no lumps remain in sauce. Add salt
  20. In another pan, heat oil and add garlic. Saute. Add chopped onions and mix well. Cook for around 2-3 minutes.
  21. Add this masala to sauce . Add dried oregano and mix well. White sauce is ready.
  22. Add some white sauce in a plate. Place spinach ravioli and spread white sauce over it. Serve hot.
