Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Chanadal One small bowl
  2. Tuver dal One small bowl
  3. Rice four small bowls
  4. One small bowl curd
  5. Green chillies 4-5
  6. curry leaves
  7. Bottle guard
  8. Hing
  9. Mustard seeds
  10. Sesame seeds
  11. oil
  12. Chopped Coriander
  13. Sugar two table spoons


  1. First take Rice ,Chanadal and Tuver dal in a separate bowl and soak in warm water for 5-6 hour
  2. Then crush it by adding curd .
  3. Give it rest for 5-6 hour
  4. Grate a peeled bottlegard and add it in prepared batter
  5. Add chopped chillies and Coriander also
  6. Now heat 6 spoons of Oil in a pan
  7. Add Mustard,sesame seeds ,Curry leaves and hing
  8. Add Half of the quantity of prepared tadka in previously prepared mixture and put rest of th e tadka aside
  9. To Make handvo , take a tin mould and dust it
  10. Add Sugar and 1/4 tspoon of soda bicarb , mix it well
  11. Pour this batter in dusted tin mould
  12. add the Left Half quantity of tadka over it which We had kept aside
  13. Heat a big utensil and put a thick layer of sand at bottom and leave it for preheating
  14. Now, after preheating for 10 mins, put the tin mould in it and cover it and leave it for 45 mins on medium flame
  15. After 45 mins check its tendency by knife
  16. Now u Can see handva is ready !
  17. Let it cool completly and then unmould it.
  18. Delicious handvo is ready To serve
