Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For idli-rice-2cup
  2. Socked poha-1 handfull
  3. Urad daal-1cup
  4. Salt to taste
  5. Baking soda -1/4teaspoon
  6. Curd-2tablespoons
  7. oil-2teaspoon
  8. For sambhar-
  9. Tuar daal-2 cup
  10. Onion- 3 sliced
  11. Tomato- 2
  12. Red chilly powder- 1teaspoon
  13. Turmaric powder- 1/4teaspoon
  14. Salt to taste
  15. Green chilly- 2chopped
  16. Tamarind pulp-2tablespoons
  17. Oil-2tablespoons
  18. Musterd seeds 1teaspoon
  19. Cumin seeds 1/2teaspoon
  20. Curry leaves- 8-9
  21. Sambhar masala- 2teaspoon

Instructions

  1. For idli
  2. Sock the rice and urad daal overnight.
  3. Afte socking wash them nicely,drain water and put in a mixer jaar.
  4. Add socked poha,curd,salt and make a smooth paste.
  5. Take out in vessel and cover it.
  6. Now let the batter ferment for 6 to 7 hours.
  7. After fermenting add soda and oil and mix well.
  8. Now pour the batter in grease idli stand and steam for 15minuts or till its done.
  9. For sambhar-
  10. Wash the daal in running water.
  11. Now put in pressure cooker Add Salt,turmaric powder, water and cook till 4 whistle.
  12. Now heat oil in a wok add cumin seeds ,musterd seeds and splutter them.
  13. Now add curry leaves and green chilly.
  14. Now add sliced onion and saute them till light pink in colour..
  15. Now Add chopped tomatoes and cook till tomatoes are soften.
  16. Now add red chilly powder,salt Sambhar masala.
  17. Now add cooked daal.
  18. Now add tamarind pulp and mix well.
  19. Now add water according to required consistency.
  20. Now cook on slow flam for 5minuts.
