This is a traditional recipe from Hyderabad where this is made for breakfast in Telugu homes.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Dhuli urad dal/lentil - 1 cup
  2. Rice - 2 cup
  3. Chopped green chilly - 1
  4. Grated ginger - 1 tsp
  5. Finely chopped onion - 1/2 cup
  6. Finely chopped carrot - 1/2 cup
  7. Finely chopped tomato - 1/2 cup
  8. Chopped coriander leaves - 2 tbsp
  9. Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
  10. Salt - to taste
  11. Oil - 4 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak dhuli urad dal/lentil and rice for 3 - 4 hours and grind.
  2. Keep for fermentation over night or you can use directly.
  3. Add green chilly,carrot,onion,tomato,coriander leaves,salt and ginger in the batter
  4. Heat oil in a pan.
  5. Add cumin seeds to crackle.
  6. Pour two ladles of batter & cover it.
  7. Now cook for two to three mins in a low flame.
  8. Flip it and cook the other side.
  9. Serve hot with coconut chutney.
