Zero oil Mogar recipe with a twist - my version. This recipe is protein packed and full of flavours. Very ideal for people who love healthy and low calorie food.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1 cup - moong dal (yellow)
  2. 1/3rd cup corn kernels
  3. A pinch of cinnamon powder
  4. 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  5. 1/4 th teaspoon chilli powder or as per the taste
  6. 1/4 th teaspoon Garam Masala
  7. 1/2 Salt or to taste
  8. 1/2 teaspoon sesame seeds
  9. 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  10. 2 pinches of asafoetida
  11. 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  12. 2 tablespoons coriander leaves chopped


  1. Soak the yellow moong dal for 1/2 an hour.
  2. Heat a non stick pan and add cumin seeds, sesame seeds and a pinch of asafoetida and dry roast for 1/2 a minute.
  3. Add the soaked, drained dal and corn kernels.
  4. Now add turmeric, chilli, cinnamon and coriander powders and stir.
  5. Add double the amount of water and cover with a lid for 5 minutes.
  6. Keep stirring at intervals
  7. When the dal is cooked evenly and water is dried, add garam masala and salt.
  8. Mix well with light hand.
  9. Drizzle the lemon juice, garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
