Ingredients to make Mixed pulao

  • 1 cup basmati rice
  • 200 gms chicken
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, cauliflower, potato, green peas, mushroom)of your choice
  • salt to taste
  • haldi powder
  • Paste:
  • 2 dried red chillies
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 12_14 flakes garlic
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 2 TSP chopped ginger
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1"stick cinnamon
  • 2 tsp fennel
  • 1 moti elaichi or black cardamom
  • 8 peppercorns
  • 3 cloves

How to make Mixed pulao

  1. Soak rice for 30 minutes
  2. For paste grind all ingredients together using some water
  3. Mix chicken and the prepared paste and keep it for 30 minutes
  4. Rinse the rice and make it dry by just spreading in a plate
  5. Then fry the rice in little oil and keep it aside.
  6. Take a pressure cooker and heat oil.
  7. Add the chicken and vegetables and saute for few minutes
  8. Then add the rice
  9. Give a nice mix
  10. Add salt to taste
  11. Put 2 cups of water and close the lid
  12. After 1 whistle switch off the gas
  13. Let the steam come out.
  14. Mixed pulao is ready to serve
