Dosa with ghee and gun powder is just extraordinary. Do give it a try.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For dosa batter :
  2. Urad dal - 1 cup
  3. Rice - 1 1/2 cup
  4. Methi seeds - 1 tsp
  5. Water sufficient to soak
  6. Salt to taste
  7. Ghee - 1/2 cup
  8. Oil
  9. Podi:
  10. Roasted gram dal - 1/2 cup
  11. Roasted red chilies - 5
  12. Roasted cumin - 1/2 tsp
  13. Roasted Whole dhania - 1/2 tsp
  14. Salt to taste


  1. Soak the rice and dal alongwith methi seeds with sufficient water for 2 hours
  2. Grind to a smooth batter with some salt.
  3. Grind the podi with all ingredients mentioned which are roasted individually to a fine powder.
  4. Apply a tsp of oil on a hot dosa tawa. Sprinkle water and let it evaporate.
  5. Pour a laddle of batter and spread.
  6. Pour a tbsp of ghee all over the dosa
  7. Now sprinkle Atleast a tbsp of podi/ gun powder all over.
  8. Spread evenly with a spoon. Fold and remove as soon as slightly roasted.
  9. Serve hot with sambar.
