This chaat comes from North India. The taste of the chat has a burst of flavors in your mouth. You would taste the crunchiness of papdis, tang from the red tamarind chutney, spice from green chutney and the vivid flavors from the powered spices. This chaat is one of my favorite street snack especially during winter.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 5-10 crisp papdis/ puris
  2. 5-10 potato tikkies /petty
  3. 1 cup mint coriander chutney (hari chutney)
  4. 1 cup tamarind chutney (meetha chutney)
  5. 1 tbsp chat masala powder
  6. 1 cup nylon sev
  7. 1 chopped onion
  8. black salt as required


  1. Spread the papdis on the serving dish /plate.
  2. Place some boiled potatoes over the center of the papdis / puris.
  3. Top it with some spicy green chutney. Now put a spoonuful of sweet tamarind chutney.
  4. Finally add the chat masala, black salt, sev and coriander leaves. Lastly squeeze lime juice on top. Repeat the same with the rest of puris.
  5. Serve the papdi chat at the earliest else they might get soggy if eaten later.
