Ingredients to make Gobhi makhani

  • 159 gm cauliflower
  • 3 tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp kasoori methi
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder
  • salt, to taste
  • 2 tsp oil
  • 2 tsp fresh cream
  • 2-3 green chillies
  • 1 inch ginger

How to make Gobhi makhani

  1. Separate the cauliflower florets and boil them in salted water.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and sauté the florets till little soft and keep aside.
  3. To the same pan add butter and bay leaf and sauté for a while.
  4. Add ginger garlic paste and sauté for a min.
  5. Make a purée of the tomatoes and add to the pan.
  6. Add red chilli powder and cook on low flame till thick and starts leaving oil, approximately 10-12 mins
  7. Add water and chopped green chillies and ginger.
  8. Let it thicken a little then add salt, sugar and kasoori methi and sauté for 1-2 mins.
  9. Add the cauliflower florets and cover and cook on low flame for 3-4 mins.
  10. Add fresh cream and switch off the gas.
  11. Sprinkle garam masala powder and serve hot.
