Ingredients to make Balekai Bajji /Plaintain Bajji

  • Raw banana / Balekai - 1
  • Besan / gram flour / Kadle hittu - 3/4 cup
  • Rice flour / Akki hittu - 1/4 cup
  • chilli powder - 2 tsp
  • baking soda - a pinch
  • Salt to taste & water

How to make Balekai Bajji /Plaintain Bajji

  1. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and make a batter with enough using water. Should be medium thick batter
  2. Heat the 300 ml oil in a medium flame
  3. Remove outer banana skin and make a thin slice
  4. Dip into batter and deep fry till golden brown
