A traditional north indian snack. My mum's recipe.

Onion Peas Kachori

Ingredients to make Onion Peas Kachori

  • For Stuffing:- 1 cup Onion (finely chopped), 2 cup peas (boiled and drained), cumin seeds, turmeric, coriander powder, red chilli powder, amchoor powder, salt, chickpeas flour (2tbsp)
  • For Kachori:- 3 cup all-purpose flour, ½ tsp baking powder, 1 tsp salt, ½ cup oil.
  • oil for Deep frying

How to make Onion Peas Kachori

  1. Stuffing:- Take 1 tbsp oil in a wok, fry onions for 5 mins. Add peas and mash the peas roughly. Add all the masala and chickpea flour. Fry for further 5 -7 mins until all water evaporates.
  2. Dough:- Mix all-purpose flour, salt, baking powder and oil. Mix some luke warm water to make a soft dough. Cover the dough and keep for 10 mins.
  3. Make 16 small balls of the dough. Flatten one ball on your palm and keep a dollop of stuffing. Fold all the sides. Seal the top properly.
  4. Now deep fry them on very light warm oil on a slow flame for almost 5-7 mins until golden brown and crunchy.

My Tip:

Enjoy with coriander chutney or tamarind & date sauce.

Anshi what should be the temp. of the oven if they are to be baked( preset temp. nd baking temp. )
