It is a delicious panjabi receipe often loved by everyone. It is a tangy and tasty curry which is protein rich due to chickpea flour added to it.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. For kadhi :Chickpea flour 1/2 cup
  2. Curd 700 gm whisked
  3. Salt to taste
  4. Turmeric powder 2 teaspoon
  5. Green chillies 2 chopped
  6. Fenugreek seeds 1 teaspoon
  7. Coriander seeds 1 teaspoon
  8. Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon
  9. Garam masala 1 teaspoon
  10. Oil 2 tablespoon
  11. Water 2 cups
  12. Onion 1 chopped
  13. Onion 1 paste
  14. Ginger 2 tablespoon chopped
  15. Garlic 4 tablespoon chopped
  16. Tomato puree of 4 tomatoes
  17. For pakodas:
  18. 1/2 cup chickpea flour
  19. Water 1/4 cup
  20. Oil 1 tablespoon
  21. Salt to taste
  22. Green chillies chopped 1
  23. Ginger chopped 2 teaspoon
  24. Carrom seeds 1 teaspoon
  25. Dry pomegranate seeds 1 teaspoon
  26. Garam masala 1 teaspoon
  27. Kasoori methi 1 tablespoon
  28. Oil for frying
  29. For second tempering:
  30. Ghee 3 tablespoon
  31. Mustard seed 2 teaspoon
  32. Chopped ginger 1 tablespoon
  33. Curry leaves
  34. Red chilli powder 2 teaspoon
  35. Red chilli whole 2

Instructions

  1. First add besan and curd whisk it properly. Add turmeric powder . Keep it aside for 10 mintues.
  2. Heat oil in a pan add fenugreek seeds, coriander seeds, cumin seeds and garlic. Saute it and add chopped onion and ginger saute it. After few minutes add onion paste. Cook it till it leaves oil.
  3. Add tomato puree and cook till it leaves oil. Add slitted green chillies and mix well. Add whisked curd mixture. And stir constantly. Keep stirring constantly on medium flame. Add water, salt and mix well.
  4. Keep cooking on medium flame for 30 minutes. Sitr occasionally.
  5. Add garam masala. After 30 minutes your kadhi is ready.
  6. Now make batter for pakoda mix all the ingredients except oil. Whisk well.
  7. Heat oil make dumplings and pour in oil and fry till crispy. Add these dumplings to kadhi and boil for 5 minutes. Add kasoori methi. Mix well.
  8. Now for 2nd tempering add ghee into a pan add all ingredients and when it starts spluttering pour this tempering over kadhi and close the lid.
  9. After few minutes mix well and garnish with coriander leaves.
  10. Your kadhi pakoda is ready to serve.
