Ingredients to make Vazhakka(raw banana) podimas

  • Raw banana 1 number medium sized
  • shallots chopped 4 table spoon
  • Grated ginger 1 teaspoon
  • Chopped green chillies 1 teaspoon
  • salt
  • oil 1 teaspoon
  • Grated coconut 2 table spoon
  • mustard seed 1 teaspoon
  • Urud dal 1 teaspoon
  • curry leaves

How to make Vazhakka(raw banana) podimas

  1. Pressure cook plantain for 1 whistle
  2. Peel and grate it
  3. In a kadai add oil and splutter mustard seed, urud Dal curry leaves and saute shallots
  4. Add grated ginger and saute
  5. Add salt and grated banana and saute for 2 minutes and switch off flame and add coconut.
  6. Serve hot with rice.
