Raw Pappaya Raita

Ingredients to make Raw Pappaya Raita

  • 1 small papaya
  • 1 sweet potato
  • 10 garlic flakes
  • 1 tsp Musturd seed
  • jeera 1 tsp
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 large tomato
  • Jagery or sugar as per taste
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • tamarind pulp 1 tbsp
  • few curry leaves
  • coriander leaves half bunch
  • A Pinch of methi seeds
  • Cooking coconut oil 3 tbsp
  • chilli powder or chilli paste 2 tbsp
  • Kasuri methi a pinch

How to make Raw Pappaya Raita

  1. First while grinding red chilli add roasted jeera, roasted methi, tamarind pulp and 2-3 garlic flakes and grind well.
  2. Now in a cooker, put the mixie contents, red chili paste, onion chopped, tomato chopped, coriander leaves and salt. Add in the raw papaya, sweet potato, jaggery or sugar, turmeric powder and 1 cup of water. After putting all these ingredients in the cooker give 2 or 3 whistles.
  3. Take a frying pan put coconut oil, jeera, methi seeds, garlic and curry leaves. Fry till it gets aromatic.
  4. Add the papaya raita now cook it on a low flame for 10 minutes.
  5. Add kasuri methi if using.
  6. Garnish with coriander leaves before serving.

My Tip:

It will be good taste .if you give tadka in end

You are not using any curd here? I thought raita always meant with curd.
