About Sweet Banana Puri Recipe

I have prepared sweet puris using overripe bananas, jaggery and some spices. An easy and quick recipe which requires fewer ingredients tastes amazing. Goes well with tea, coffee.

Sweet Banana Puri

Ingredients to make Sweet Banana Puri

  • wheat flour – 1 ½ cup
  • Mashed banana – 2 medium sized, peeled, mashed
  • Grated jaggery – 1 1/2 tbsp
  • nutmeg powder – 1/4 tsp
  • cardamom powder – 1/2 tsp
  • salt – ¼ tsp
  • oil – ½ tbsp. + 2cups for frying
  • water- as or if required for kneading

How to make Sweet Banana Puri

  1. In a bowl take wheat flour, salt, oil, nutmeg and cardamom powder, grated jaggery, mashed Banana. Mix well until mixture incorporates well with each other.
  2. Add water only if required and knead it into a stiff dough.
  3. Cover and keep aside for 20-30 minutes.
  4. In a wok, heat oil.
  5. Knead the dough again. Take a small portion of it and make a ball.
  6. Grease rolling board with little oil.
  7. Place a ball and Roll evenly from all the sides. It should be little thick.
  8. Fry Puris on the medium low flame from all the sides until golden brown and fluffy.
  9. Serve hot with tea or any curry.

My Tip:

For Puris dough always needs to be stiff. Use oil for rolling puris. Use water only if required. I used overripe bananas (green variety) hence water requirement was less.
