An evening snack with sweet potato ,basan & rice flour.

Sweet potato ribbon pokuvada.

Ingredients to make Sweet potato ribbon pokuvada.

  • Sweet potato , boiled & mashed 1 cup
  • Basan 1/2 cup
  • Rice flour 1 cup
  • garlic paste 1/2 tsp
  • chilli powder 1/2 to 1 tsp
  • asafoetida 2 pinch
  • salt
  • oil to deep fry.

How to make Sweet potato ribbon pokuvada.

  1. Cool the boiled sweet potatoes. Then mix with all other ingredients , one by one, except oil. Make a dough.
  2. Heat oil in a pan.
  3. Pour 1 or 2 tbsp of hot oil on the dough & make a smooth dough.
  4. Take pokuvada machine. Fill it with dough. & press through it to the hot oil directly.
  5. When one side is done, turn & cook the other side also.
  6. Repeat the process with the rest of the dough.
  7. Store in airtight container. It lasts for days, if kept tight.

My Tip:

Mash potatoes well or it will b different to press. If u dont want garlic, u can avoid it.
