Jackfruit Kottige

Ingredients to make Jackfruit Kottige

  • 2 cup dosa rice
  • 4-5 cup finely chopped / crushed ripe jackfruit
  • Grated coconut 1 cup
  • jaggery 1 cup
  • salt to taste
  • water
  • banana leaves

How to make Jackfruit Kottige

  1. Remove the seeds and other unwanted things from each jackfruit.
  2. Crush or chop finely.
  3. Grind smoothly the 4 hours soaked rice by adding some water and salt to taste.
  4. Batter should be thick.
  5. Take washed banana leaves just tender it over the flame for few seconds.
  6. Take each banana leaves apply batter only half portion, thinly to each.
  7. Take chopped jackfruit, mix grated coconut and Jaggery powder.
  8. Spread it over the batter.
  9. Fold each leaves sides.
  10. Place it on idly steamer.
  11. Steam it in high flame for about 15 minutes and in low flame for another 20 minutes.
  12. Turn off the flame, let it warm, remove the banana leaf and serve with ghee and ginger chutney.

My Tip:

You can also mix all the ingredients with batter and place on banana leaves.
