Vendaikkai ( okra ) masal

Ingredients to make Vendaikkai ( okra ) masal

  • okra 15
  • onion 1
  • tamarind  small size
  • tomato 1
  • salt
  • oil 2 tsp
  • chilli powder 1 tsp
  • Grated coconut 3 tsp
  • mustard seeds ½ tsp
  • cumin seeds : 1/2 tsp
  • curry leaves

How to make Vendaikkai ( okra ) masal

  1. Dry roast the okra for 5 min on medium flame and keep aside
  2. Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves
  3. Add onion, tomato and saute for 2 min
  4. Add chilli powder, salt and keep saute for 1 min
  5. Add tamarind water and cook for 3 - 5 min
  6. Add roasted okra and keep cook for 5 min
  7. Add coconut paste and cook for 2 min and switch off the flame
