Holi Special Cake

Ingredients to make Holi Special Cake

  • All-purpose flour (maida) - 200 gms
  • butter - 60 gm
  • Milk- around 1 cup
  • Sweetened Condensed milk- 1/2 tin (200 gms)
  • sugar (Caster)- 80-90 gms
  • Vanilla essence- a few drops
  • Baking Powder- 1.5 tsp
  • baking soda- 1/4 tsp
  • Food Colors (I took 3 colors- red, yellow and green) (You can use any-gel or powder based)

How to make Holi Special Cake

  1. Take your cake tin and grease it with some oil. Dust it with maida. Preheat your oven at 160 degrees celsius.
  2. In a mixing bowl, take the melted butter and add the castor sugar and the sweetened condensed milk. Whisk it until you get it fluffy and nicely aerated. Then add the vanilla essence.
  3. In another bowl, sift in the maida, baking powder and baking soda. Mix them well.
  4. Now fold in the maida into your wet ingredients and start adding the milk. Don't add all the milk at once. Just add 2-3 tbsp of milk at a time. Acquire the batter of just pouring consistency.
  5. Roughly divide your cake batter in three parts and pour two parts in two separate bowls and keep the third part in the first bowl itself. Now add your food colors in the bowl. Red in one, Yellow in the second and Green in the last one.
  6. Take a ladle and start pouring the colored batters. Just pour 1-1 tbsp of cake batter at a time. Pour different colored batters over each other.
  7. Bake your cake at 160 degrees celsius for around 30 minutes or until its done.
  8. Decorate it with colored fondant and some drops of diluted food colors.

My Tip:

Try using natural food colors. They are available in the market!
