Butter chicken

Ingredients to make Butter chicken

  • 500 gm boneless chicken pieces
  • For marination- 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1/2 cup yogurt
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp tandoori masala
  • 1 lime juice
  • For 1 st masala
  • 3 onion chopped
  • 2 tomato chopped
  • 1 tbsp cashew nuts
  • 1 tbsp peppercorns
  • For 2nd masala
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 4 green cardamon
  • 2 tbsp coriander seeds
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 stick cinamon
  • 1 blade mace
  • coriander leaves
  • butter 50 gm
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Kasuri methi 1 tnsp
  • coriander powder 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste and 1 tsp sugar

How to make Butter chicken

  1. Marinate chicken for overnight
  2. Prepare 1st masala. Heat 2 tbsp butter in a pan add some oil. Now add onions , tomatoes, cashew and pepper corns. Fry till onions are brown and tomatoes are mushy.
  3. Remove and cool. Grind this alomg with some milk into paste
  4. Now in the same pan add marinated chicken. On a high flame cook it for 10 to 15 . Till it becomes a bit charred from outside.
  5. Keep aside.
  6. In same pan add 1 tbsp oil. Add all the ingredients under 2nd masala. Remove and cool. Grind it adding water.keep aside
  7. Now in the same pan add butter and some oil. Now add coriander leaves
  8. Add the 1st masala paste. Cook for some time. Add red chilli powder amd coriander powder. Ads turmeric and salt n sugar. Add kasuri methi. Mix.
  9. Add the 2nd masala. Cook for sometime. Now add chicken. Mix well. Add 1/4 cup milk. Give a stir.
  10. Cook for 5 min.
  11. Garnish with cream
