ABOUT BAKED MOONG DAAL KACHORI RECIPE

In the evening we use to taste various types of snacks, but very less people knows that Baked Moong Daal Kachori is very yummy and tasty, with this we can take Tea or Coffee. Children will also prefer this type of snacks.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Moong Daal - 1/2 cup (soaked)
  2. Oil - 2 tablespoon.
  3. Coriander powder - 1 tsp.
  4. Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp.
  5. Red chilli powder - 1 tsp.
  6. Coriander seeds 1/2 tsp.
  7. Chat masala - 1/2 tsp.
  8. Dried mango powder - 1 tsp
  9. Garam masala - 1/2 tsp
  10. Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp.
  11. Fresh Coriander leaves.
  12. Fennel powder - 1/2 tsp.
  13. Salt to taste.
  14. FOR COVERING :
  15. Refined flour (maida) - 2 cup.
  16. Carom seeds - 1 tsp
  17. Salt to taste.
  18. Baking powder - 1/4 tsp.
  19. Ghee - 2 tablespoon. ( brushing).

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a non stick pan, add coriander seeds, coriander powder, cumin powder, red chilli powder, fennel powder, garam masala powder and salt , mix well and saute for 2 minutes add little water to avoid over cooking, add soaked moong daal, 1/2 cup of water, dry mango powder and chat masala mix well and Cook till moong daal is fully cooked.
  2. When daal mixture becomes dry, transfer it into another bowl and let it cool.
  3. Preheat oven to 180° c
  4. Put refined flour in a bowl, add salt, baking powder, ghee and carom seeds and mix well. Add sufficient water and knead into a stiff dough. Cover the bowl with cloth and rest the dough for 20 mins.
  5. Divide the dough into equal portions and shape into balls. Apply little oil to each ball, press them slightly and roll out into small puris with the edges being thinner then the center.
  6. Place some of the daal mixture in the Centre, dampen the edges, bring them together and press to seal.
  7. Press slightly and roll into small puris ensuring the filling is evenly spread.
  8. Grease a baking tray, place the kachoris in it, brush them with a little ghee and bake in the preheated oven at 200°c for about 15 mins or till the kachoris are cooked and turns in golden.
  9. Arrange them on a serving plate and serve hot with tomatoe chutney and chopped onion.
  10. This is very tempting especially for those who avoid fried items.
