Ingredients to make Daal moong

  • Half cup moong daal( yellow ) soaked
  • whole moong Half cup soaked
  • imli 2 spoons
  • green chillies(less spicy one) chopped
  • coriander leaves
  • turmeric powder 2 tsps
  • salt to taste
  • red chilli pwd to sprinkle
  • black salt to taste
  • lemon wedges
  • finely chopped onion
  • maida 1 cup
  • oil to deep fry
  • oil 2 tbsp to add in maida
  • ajwain 1 tsp
  • zeera 1 tsp

How to make Daal moong

  1. Pressure cook moving for 3 whistles with salt and turmeric pwd a pinch.
  2. Cook daal in open pan and steam green chillies over it by keeping chillies on perforated plate.
  3. When daal is cooked completely add salt and turmeric pwd.
  4. Keep aside both moong and daal by grinding them with daal masher.
  5. For making pakwaan add 2 tbsp oil,salt,ajwain,zeera and make semi soft dough.
  6. Rest dough for 10 min.
  7. Roll and prick these pakwaan.
  8. Deep fry till golden on medium flame.
  9. Soak imli in hot water extract pulp and discard waste.
  10. Add salt, green chillies, red chilli pwd and prepare chutney,coriander leaves and prepare chutney.
  11. For serving....... Crush pakwaan on plate roughly.
  12. Pour over daal and moong over pakwaan.
  13. Pour imli chutney.
  14. Garnish with finely chopped onion,steamed chillies, red chilli pwd,lemon juice rock salt, coriander leaves and some more crushed pakwaan.

My Tip:

Sprinkling red chilli pwd and rock salt takes the taste of dish to another level.
