Spicy masala peanuts

Ingredients to make Spicy masala peanuts

  • Groundnuts 350gms
  • chickpeas / Besan flour 3 tablespoons
  • Rice flour 3 tablespoons
  • ginger , garlic , g. chilli paste 1 teaspoon
  • hing a big pinch
  • Kashmiri red chilli powder 2 teaspoons
  • coriander powder 1/2 teaspoon
  • salt as taste
  • lime juice 1/4 teaspoon
  • oil for deep frying
  • water 1/4 glass .

How to make Spicy masala peanuts

  1. In a bowl , add chickpeas flour , rice flour , salt , ginger garlic green chilli paste , hing , Kashmiri chilli powder , coriander powder . lime juice and mix all together to a smooth paste consistency .
  2. Add little water to adjust the consistency of the prepared batter . The batter shouldn’t be too tight nor too runny as well .
  3. Now add the peanuts to this batter . Mix well so that the peanuts are finely coated with masala ( batter ) .
  4. Heat a wok , heat oil for frying . Add the masala coated peanuts into the hot oil . Reduce the flame and fry for 2 minutes till the peanuts turn to beautiful golden red colour ( Red colour is because of the Kashmiri red chilli powder ) . In case you use ordinary chilli powder , you may get golden brown peanuts . Tats fine too .
  5. Fry the peanuts both the sides and remove the fried peanuts from the hot oil . Drain out excess oil .
  6. Serve hot with a cup of hot beverage .

My Tip:

Check the batter consistency . Fry under low to medium flame for good colour and crispness . Can replace rice flour with corn flour too .
