ABOUT Bitter Gourd Crispies RECIPE

Bitter gourd slices dipped in a spicy batter and deep fried.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 2 bitter gourds (sliced)
  2. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  3. 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  4. 1/4 tsp chaat masala
  5. 1/4 tsp garam masala
  6. 2 tbs chickpea flour
  7. 2 tbs arrowroot powder/ rice flour
  8. salt to taste


  1. Slice the bitter gourd and remove the seeds.
  2. Add salt to the bitter gourd and mix well. Keep aside for 5 minutes. It will leave water. Drain the water.
  3. Add all the remaining ingredients and mix well. Let it marinate for another 10 minutes.
  4. Deep fry on medium heat till golden brown and crisp.
  5. Serve hot as an accompaniment with rice or rotis.
