Filo wrapped king prawns

Ingredients to make Filo wrapped king prawns

  • 12 king prawns, cleaned and de-veined
  • 12 filo pastry, 6"×6"
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch dissolved in 1 teaspoon water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt and pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon mild red chilly powder
  • oil for frying

How to make Filo wrapped king prawns

  1. Marinate the prawns with olive oil, red chilly powder, salt, pepper and minced garlic for half an hour
  2. Lay a sheet of filo pastry on the cutting table.
  3. Keep the rest of the pastry sheets under a moist tea towel all the times or they will dry out
  4. Place a marinated prawn at one end of the pastry, roll up the pastry tightly until your roll is complete
  5. Seal the filo roll end using cornstarch paste. Repeat the same with remaining prawns
  6. Fry your filo wrapped prawns until golden and serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce
