ABOUT PANNE With Paneer, Tomato & Chilli Sauce RECIPE

Pasta is very versatile. Virtually everyone loves pasta abd its specially popular with children. It can be a good source of protein, as well as B vitamins, potassium and iron. Moreover its economical, convenient, and the dried variety keeps well.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 450 gm dried penne
  2. 2 tbspn butter
  3. 1 tbspn oil
  4. 1 finely chopped onion
  5. 150 gm diced cottage cheese
  6. 2 garlic cloves, very fine chopped
  7. 1 fresh red chilli, deseeded and finely chopped
  8. 800 gm chopped tomatoes
  9. 2 tbspn fresh chopped parsley
  10. 6 tbspn grated permesan cheese
  11. Salt to taste
  12. 1/2 tspn Pepper


  1. Put the oil and 1 tbspn butter in a large saucepan over medium-low heat.
  2. Add onion and cook for 10 minutes or until soft and golden.
  3. Add cottage cheese and cook for 5 minutes, or until light brown in color.
  4. Stir in the garlic, chilli and tomatoes.
  5. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
  6. Bring to the boil, then simmer over medium-low heat for 30-40 minutes or until thickened.
  7. Meanwhile, bring a large heavy based saucepan of lightly salted water to the boil.
  8. Add the pasta, return to the boil and cook for 8-10 minutes or until tender but still firm to the bite.
  9. Drain and transfer to the warmed serving dish.
  10. Pour the sauce over pasta. Add the parsley, Parmesan cheese and the remaining butter. Toss well to mix and serve immediately.
