ABOUT Orange Chicken RECIPE

It's a delicious citrus chicken recipe. It's crispy, juicy and packed with flavour that everyone will love. It's a very easy and quick recipe that goes well with noodles and rice or one can serve it as starter too. I made this orange chicken a little healthier way by shallow frying the pieces with few tsp of oil rather than deep frying.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Chicken boneless 500gm (medium pieces)
  2. For marination-
  3. Orange juice 1/2cup
  4. Ginger garlic paste 1tbsp
  5. Soya sauce 1tsp
  6. Maida 2tsp
  7. Cornflour 1tsp
  8. Black pepper powder 1tsp
  9. Salt as per taste
  10. For the sauce -
  11. Orange juice 1/2cup
  12. Ginger garlic paste 1tbsp
  13. Soya sauce 1tsp
  14. Black pepper powder 1tsp
  15. Vinegar 1tsp
  16. Sugar 1/2tsp
  17. Cornflour 1tsp
  18. Salt as per taste
  19. White sesame seeds 1tsp


  1. Marinate the chicken pieces with all the ingredients written under "marination".
  2. Cover and let it rest for 1hour.
  3. Shallow fry these chicken pieces in medium heat oil until they turn crisp. Take them out.
  4. Heat 1tsp oil, add ginger garlic paste. Saute.
  5. Add soya sauce, vinegar, orange juice, salt, sugar, pepper powder and 1/2cup water.
  6. Mix well and then add the chicken pieces.
  7. Let the sauce come to a boil.
  8. Then add the cornflour slurry.
  9. Let the sauce simmer until it turns thick and coats the chicken pieces well.
  10. Switch off and sprinkle few sesame seeds. Serve hot.
  11. Note-You can make the sauce little juicy which goes well with noodles and rice.
