Easy and delicious kesar pista malai kulfi made with khoya

Malai Kulfi

Ingredients to make Malai Kulfi

  • Full Fat Milk - 1/2 litre
  • sugar - 50 gms
  • Cordamon powder - 1 tsp
  • saffron 1 pinch
  • Some chopped almonds. pistachios and cashews
  • Khoya - 1/2 cup
  • kewra Water - 2 tsp

How to make Malai Kulfi

  1. Take milk in a large and heavy saucepan on a low flame bring the milk to a boil. Stir occasionally- continue to cook milk till it reduces 1/3 of it's original volume.
  2. Add khoya and keep on stirring and remove the clotted malai which forms top of the milk and add it back to the milk.
  3. This way stirring often reduce the milk to half of the original volume.
  4. Keep the flame to a low and add sugar. Add cardamon powder - a pinch of saffron and chopped nuts.
  5. Just gently bring to one boil then switch off the flame. Add kewra water . Mix well . Let the mixture cool and pour the malai kulfi mixture in kulfi moulds. Cover tightly with mould lid and freeze for 7-8 hour.
  6. before serving place the malai.kulfi on serving plate and sprinkle some chopped nuts . Serve immediately

My Tip:

you can use full cream or malai instead of khoya
